Is that???….Yes, it probably is. The more things change, the more they stay the same, and nowhere else is that truer than at the new Bungalow 8 reincarnation, No 8. Disco is still skillfully manning the door, curating the perfect crowd of bold-face names and pretty people, and Amy Sacco is still holding court in a black dress, and there are still bamboo leaves on the walls, but this is not your Momma’ Bungalow 8. Relocated from 27th street, where it was a pioneer in the still untouched meatpacking district, No 8 is now drawing the cool-kid crowd to 16th street, to a more blinged version of the original. The size of the main room and the bumping sound system are the same, but the but what used to be a balcony has gotten a revamp into a complete separate room, with vinyl records on the wall and a more laid back living room feel. There is also a private room with one way glass, so the famous people can observe the “masses” and without being seen and keep their shenanigans private…whatever they may be….For a truly faffy night out, this spot still (again?) can’t be beat, even if a recent night had the crowd mixed with the remnants of a corporate function early in the evening. No 8 has seen it ALL, and knows how to keep secrets, so let your hair down and do it up…
