NYC slows down for no one! Just a few weeks ago the only colors we needed to think about were gold, silver or bronze, and here we are already ,back in NYC and gearing up for the Olympics of the Clothes World: NYC Fashion Week. So moisturize that last bit of tan and shake the sand out of your sandals, it is time to look your best and return to your sidewalk catwalk.
What really gets us excited to return to the city is all of the restaurant openings happening around the Fall. It is like yumminess just marinates all summer and is ready to explode, starting in September. The Pants know that is more than what is on the inside (of your tummy) that matters, so that is why we always tell you what to wear to all of our restaurant picks. Taking that a step farther, below we have two of our favorite looks from Alice & Trixie (www.aliceandtrixie.com) and the perfect new spots to debut them. After all, we know that the real strutting occurs once the runways are all packed up….
Lincoln Center is the epicenter of Fashion Week, and of course a major cultural insttituion as well. This Fall it will become even more of a culinary destination, with a Marcus Samuelsson restaurant opening right in Lincoln Center. American Table Cafe and Bar will be open in Alice Tully Hall by the end of the month, and the American fare with global mash-ups will rival the exotic combinations that come down the runways in this storied space. This sophisticated statement dress from Alice & Trixie is the perfect mix of class and flash, an indespensable piece that will take you from the office or performance right into a yummy meal. (It also looks quite stretchy, which the Pants obviously love).
Every downtown girl has had a hole in her heart ever since the Beatrice Inn closed, so of course we are all excited for Graydon Carter’s newest incarnation. A Per Se alum in the kitchen has our tongues wagging for some food before our hips get shaking, and this Alice & Trixie look is ready for what is sure to be the hottest scene in town.
